I prefer to only have one project going at one time. To each their own.

I really don't like swatching, I feel it takes my time away from knitting lol. I'm also trying to understand the need for circular swatches. Are we not measuring flat anyway? Am I missing something? lol. I'm learning how to create my own designs as I find other patterns I've bought I'm having to rewrite them or there's mistakes. So frustrating, Saying that I've always wanted to create my own anyway so I guess that's a lesson. Great video. Thank you

My favorite one skein pattern is a boomerang scarf. So versatile. Ive made and given away dozens in many fabulous yarns.

cassis = ka-SEECE = blackcurrant in French. Crème de cassis = blackcurrant liqueur = kir. Put kir into champagne and you're got yourself a Kir Royale. And then knit.

This cast off looks amazing. I can see how easy it would be for sleeves, but for binding off a top down sweater at the waist, I'd imagine it would be hard to manage the very long lengths of yarn required for three times the length of the width of the stitches. Is there any way to address this? I usually knit with wool or cotton, but this time, I'm using an acrylic yarn and I'm not sure it would cope with such prolonged use. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 😊😊

Love this video. Stephen West is the best- I’ve made several of his shawls. The woman who said read everything as you go gave the best advice. I never read ahead- that is a recipe for failure or not even trying.

I’ve been knitting inconsistently for 30+ years and I still don’t swatch 😬. I usually get away with knitting the smallest size according to the pattern. Who knows. May be, I may just start swatching 😉

Just started watching your videos - they are really well done. I really appreciate the clear instructions and they are so well filmed. Got a question, I'm finishing my first sweater and the sleeves end in 8 rows of seed stitches. Any bind off recommendations to avoid the bind off flaring out but something a beginner can manage?

I’m currently knitting my first top down in the round sweater. I found the pattern, His Mellow Mood, on Etsy. I’ve completed the body and am about to start picking up stitches for the sleeves. Wish me luck!

I love bamboo when I’m using slippery yarn, like any yarn that has silk. I’m getting ready to cast on Turbulence by Expression Fiber Arts using their crema sock yarn base (70% superwash merino wool and 30% mulberry silk). It is such a soft luscious yarn base! Those bamboo needles would be a great help! I love my chaio goo red stainless set.

Must be too late to comment t since your viedo is 2 yr old….If i win the bamboo set i would do the Louisiana sweater from PetiteKnit .. the bamboo feel must be fun to wrok with and i could finally bring my set on a plane ✈️ - i have the ss set but always leave my full set back when i go on vacation - only bringin my current project. Bummer! This is 2 years old; I’m sure the bamboo knitting set of interchangeable needles are already gone. In the spirit - I have a cashmere sweater which has a wonderful open pattern, but has shrunk. My idea is to open up the side seams, underarm seams and the hood, and insert panels of Fern to bring the sweater back to size. Already tried blocking, but the response was minimal.

I would knit that beautiful spotty sweater!

what about purling? any video about that?

Why don't you use a life line instead of going back and pu stitches? Why don't you CO first and then knit the back stitches?

I ordered some yarn from wool and the gang and it's almost like roving yarn. I've done about 10 rows and now the yard is wanting to start twisting and kinking up. How can I avoid that .

🎉 you are right I have not watched it it has cost me dearly. And knitting socks. I love to watch with all the different legal heels and the knitting two at a time the magic loop about did me in but I finally got it.

I am an 84 year old grandmother who's taught my three granddaughters and my daughter-in-law how to knit. Even went online to teach one how to knit left-handed .. I have multiple projects going right now I love the self-striping yarn with the fisherman's.

Caleb, this is a clear, easy-to -understand tutorial. I ran into someone last weekend who does ribbing this way. My question is, do you do the combination purling process only on ribbing, or do you do it on everything? I am a Continental knitter with very loose purls and I can see this is a good way to purl, seems much easier and less yarn. Thanks!

Thank you for acknowledging that the length of yarn needed to kitchener a sweater hem is a pain but do-able.That was the very question I was going to post.

I'm guessing SLOG means Slow Going project but wouldn't it be SLOGO??
